Pides of March Tribute Show

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Save vs. Poison continues to cram  bizzaro metal down Baltimore’s throat with a Pides of March [that’s 3/13 for those without a deep knowledge of  Pi or Shakespeare] show at the punk rock haven known as The Sidebar.

In honor of three momentous events-the death of the ultimate DM, Gary Gygax, Pi day, and Cesar’s fateful Ides of March– your favorite AD&D thrash band Perverse Osmosis headlines an evening of pie, platonic solids, and metal. Doors at 8ish, bands start around 9. Cost is five gold pieces. Free pie at midnight, plus a surprise math lecture. Come get stabbed in the back and then make a saving throw.

Show lineup:

Maverick [80s style hard rock]

Scoundrel [80s hair metal]

Shit the Bed [grind/thrash]

Perverse Osmosis [hi-speed, low-fi thrash chaos]

We aren’t kidding about the free pie either.  Grab your crusty punk friends, your Guitar Hero addicted mates, and your burn out party members, and get ready to fight some goblins and steal some treasure. Shrine of the Koa-Taun

Baltimore’s own Zappa/Dr. Who- influenced Puddle is playing a nearly top-secret show.  In an exclusive release to Save vs Poison and Perverse Osmosis, news of the show has been leaked:  Today, Dec 27th at The Sidebar.  Opening for Puddle is the excellently named Me and my Zombie Jesus.  Or at least that is close to what their name is.  Our field operative did not write the information down clearly on his dispatch to himself.  It will run a person/demi-human/humaniod 5 G.P. [that’s 5$US].  Puddle has promised an extra-long and freaked out set on their end, and how can you go wrong with a band that is both a Futurama reference and the tautological truth of Jesus?

To repeat:

Tonight, Dec 27th at the Sidebar

Mardi Gras Madness

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Save vs. Poison is proud to present Mardi Gras Madness on Feb 2 at the Load of Fun space. Bands, booze, beads, and quite possible boobs will headline this catastrophe. Two floors of fun and food as well as the musical stylings of OFM, Gunwife Gone, Perverse Osmosis, and others. $20 bucks gets you all you can eat red beans and rice and all you can drink beer. That’s right, for one Andrew Jackson, you can see four or five bands, eat some authentic red beans and rice, drink a bunch of beer, throw some beads at some unsuspecting person, and maybe, just maybe, make it out alive.

The Lynch Who Stole Xmas

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Lynch-TabloidLynch-Bob

Save vs. Poison turns that holiday frown upside down by presenting The Lynch Who Stole Xmas party this Saturday night. That’s right, put on that Agent Cooper trenchcoat, wrap yourself in plastic, or rot some teeth out, and come down to the Hamilton Art Collective for one wacky celebration of all things Lynch.

Party starts at 8:00 with an hour’s worth of free PBR, in honor of Blue Velvet’s Frank. Music begins around 8:30 with the soothing sounds of the slow club (2/5th of GunWife Gone), followed by local insanity-provokers Puddle. Up next is the entity known as OFM, bringing their special blend of mind-bending psychotropic space rock. The evening’s entertainment ends with a Dune mini-opera by Bene Gesserit Witch: that’s right, a mini-rock opera about Dune.
